Break and Steal an Egg Eggs & Animals Tier Lists
Rarity ladders, zone targets, and what to invest in at each Speed gate.
Welcome to the Tier List Hub for Break and Steal an Egg. Use these rankings to decide which nests to break, which animals to keep in your Pen, and when to push the next zone instead of grinding the same Common eggs. The game’s economy is simple on paper — break eggs, steal animals with E, escape guardians, place pets for cash, then buy pickaxes and trails — but rarity and zone gates decide how fast that loop pays.
This hub links the two deep lists players search for most:
- Eggs Tier List — every zone’s egg lineup, rarity tags, and Speed recommendations from Forest to Galaxy.
- Animals Tier List — which pets matter by stage, income focus, weight, and merge value (includes a video walkthrough).
Rarity ladder (Common → Secret)
Eggs and the animals they hatch climb a shared rarity language. Exact shop labels can add Divine, Cosmic, or Celestial on tools and trails, but nest eggs follow this progression as you move outward from the Safe Zone:
| Tier | Typical zones | Role in progression |
|---|---|---|
| Common | Forest | Tutorial cash and first Index ticks |
| Uncommon | Desert | First real income step after Speed 1k |
| Rare | Snowy | Mid early-game after Speed 50k |
| Epic | Candy | Spike in cash once you hold ~750k Speed |
| Legendary | Swamp (+ free Sabertooth Egg) | Serious Pen earners; community Legendary available without a nest |
| Mythic | Ocean | High cash before billion-Speed hell gates |
| Divine | Hell | Late-game income with 1B+ Speed |
| Cosmic | Blossom | Pre-endgame at ~5B Speed |
| Secret | Galaxy | Current top nests at ~25B Speed; hydra guard |
Treat the ladder as a planning tool, not a promise that every Secret out-earns every Cosmic in every Pen layout. Weight, giant variants, merge results, and Index completion bonuses all matter. Pair this hub with Pet Merge and Index Rewards when you optimize slots.
How we rank for this wiki
- Stage fit — A Forest Common that you can actually escape with beats a Galaxy Secret you die carrying.
- Income per risk — Higher rarity usually means better Pen cash, but guardian difficulty and carry slowdown rise too.
- Upgrade synergy — Eggs you cannot break yet are F-tier for you until pickaxe power catches up. See Pickaxes.
- Collection value — Unique Index entries can outweigh raw $/s when a milestone unlocks Speed or cash. See the Index Hub.
- Merge potential — Duplicate mid pets may be better as merge fuel than as permanent Pen residents after the merge machine update.

Meeting the number on the gate is not the same as escaping with a heavy animal. Bank a buffer, equip your newest trail, and train on the treadmill before deep runs. Trails replaced old Speed upgrades — equip after every purchase or your multiplier stays off. Details live in How to Get Speed and Trails.
Suggested reading order
- Skim Eggs by zone to see what nests exist at your Speed.
- Open Animals tier strategy for Pen priorities and merge advice.
- Fix tools with Pickaxes if break time is the bottleneck.
- Practice escapes with How to Steal.
- Track patch shifts on the Updates Hub — Galaxy, potions, and bosses change the top end.
New players should still start at Getting Started before chasing Secret rankings. Free Legendary progress from the Sabertooth Egg is documented on Codes and does not require a Swamp clear.
What this hub is not
We do not sell Robux packs, and we do not invent hatch rates. Numbers and zone egg names reflect publicly documented layouts as of early October 2026. When ILGames x Eggs adds nests or retunes income, the child tier pages will move first — check their updated dates after major patches listed under Updates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What rarity ranks exist in Break and Steal an Egg?
Nest progression climbs Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary → Mythic → Divine → Cosmic → Secret as you move from Forest to Galaxy. Tools and trails may use overlapping labels like Celestial.
Should I always chase the highest rarity egg?
No. Rank by stage fit. A nest you can break and escape safely outperforms a Secret egg that guardians reclaim every run.
Where is the eggs tier list?
Open the Eggs Tier List under this hub for zone-by-zone nests, Speed gates, and cross-links to pickaxes and animals.
Where is the animals or pets tier list?
See the Animals Tier List for stage strategy, income focus, weight, and merge tips, including a video overview.
Does the free Sabertooth count on the ladder?
Yes. The Community Rewards Sabertooth Egg is Legendary and helps early Index and cash without a Swamp Speed clear. Claim steps are on the Codes Hub.
