Break and Steal an Egg Guides & Walkthroughs

Every core tutorial for the break, steal, escape, and upgrade loop.

Last updated:

The Guides Hub is the practical center of this Break and Steal an Egg wiki. Hubs like Codes and Tier List answer “what exists.” These guides answer “how do I do it safely and efficiently” on a 7-player shared field where guardians punish slow escapes and trails only work after you equip them.

Break and Steal an Egg (ILGames x Eggs, released September 5, 2026) is a Simulation / Tycoon loop: break eggs with your pickaxe, press E to steal the animal, outrun the zone NPC, place the pet in your Pen for cash, then spend that cash on pickaxes, trails, and treadmill training while you complete the Index. Speed upgrades were removed — trails are the multiplier layer now. If a purchase feels “broken,” open the Trail menu and equip it before blaming the shop.

Getting Started

Day-one orientation: Safe Zone layout (Pen, Pickaxe Shop, Trails Shop, merge machine), controls (WASD, Space, left-click break, E steal, I / O zoom), first Forest runs, and the order of upgrades that avoids dead ends. Watch the embedded beginner video, claim free rewards from the Codes Hub, then return here for specialist pages.

How to Steal

Steal timing, approach angles, and escape habits once an egg breaks. Covers why carry weight ruins returns, how to use Speed buffers above the zone gate, and how other players in a 7-person server change your pathing. Pair with zone egg targets on the Eggs Tier List.

How to Get Speed

Treadmill training, trail multipliers, free Speed claim near the Trails Shop, and the Recommended Speed table from Forest (5) through Galaxy (25B). Explains why buying a trail without equipping it wastes cash and how potions from newer shops fit the stack.

Tools and shops

Pickaxes

All 18 pickaxes from Wooden (starter, Power 1) to Celestial (endgame, 25B Power). Use this when break time — not movement — is your bottleneck. Mid tools like Diamond through Rainbow bridge into Crystal and the late ladder. Cross-check nest toughness on Eggs.

Trails

All 11 trails from White (2x, $500) to Moonlight (10k multiplier). Trails replaced Speed shop upgrades. The guide stresses the equip step, shop order quirks (Blue appears before Green despite rarity tags), and how multipliers sit on top of treadmill base Speed.

Potions

Timed Robux-shop boosts observed in current builds: x1.25 WalkSpeed, x2 Treadmill Speed, and x2 Cash. Use them for planned zone pushes after Trails are equipped — not as a substitute for permanent Speed. Stack rules and when to skip potions live on that page.

Economy and base

Cash

How Pen income, selling, merges, and zone target choice print shop money fast. Includes Trail-versus-pickaxe spend priority so you stop buying Power while guards still win every chase.

Inventory

When to sell eggs and pets versus keep them for Index claims and merge triples. Essential after the inventory selling update so you do not liquidate a one-of-a-kind discovery.

Base Upgrades

Treadmill training habits, Pen capacity/levels, and the Safe Zone circuit that keeps claim → equip → train → steal → bank moving without wasted hub time.

Progression systems

Pet Merge

How the Animal / Pet Merge machine turns duplicates into stronger eggs after the merge update. Helps clean inventory once selling exists, and feeds better Pen slots without only relying on deeper zones. Works with strategy on the Animals Tier List.

Index Rewards

Why filling the Index matters beyond completionism: structured rewards for discovering animals, synergy with collection goals, and how free Legendaries like Sabertooth still count. Broader collection framing lives on the Index Hub.

Zones

Zone-by-zone Recommended Speed gates, NPC difficulty, and nest overviews for Forest, Desert, Snowy, Candy, Swamp, Ocean, Hell, Blossom, and Galaxy (Secret eggs, hydra). Those big numbers are Speed readiness — not Cash unlock fees. Use the page as a map companion beside steal practice and the eggs tier page.

How to use these guides together

  1. Finish Getting Started and claim free Speed + Sabertooth on Codes.
  2. Raise Speed with How to Get Speed until Desert (1k Recommended Speed) feels comfortable.
  3. Upgrade pickaxe when eggs take too long — Pickaxes.
  4. Drill escapes — How to Steal — before Candy and Swamp.
  5. Fund shops with Cash habits; clean extras via Inventory and Pet Merge.
  6. Use Base Upgrades when the hub loop itself is the bottleneck.
  7. Rank targets with Eggs and Animals.
  8. Potion only for planned pushes — Potions.
  9. Recheck Updates after Galaxy, trails, inventory, boss, or Admin Abuse patches.

Quality bar for this wiki

Each guide aims for practical depth: real zone Recommended Speed numbers, shop ladders, and one mid-article video where a verified YouTube walkthrough exists. We do not invent codes, fake video IDs, or copy Steal an Egg data into this title — this is a separate experience. For official links and Discord, see the Links Hub. For risky automation feature names, see Scripts (read the ban warning first).

When you only have ten minutes, skim the hub links above, open the single guide that matches your bottleneck (Speed, break power, cash, inventory, or escapes), then jump back into a server. Come back after each zone band to refresh trail equip checks and Index progress.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Which guide should a brand-new player open first?

Start with Getting Started, claim free Speed and the Sabertooth Egg from the Codes Hub, then use How to Get Speed before leaving Forest and Desert.

Why does my new trail not make me faster?

Trails replaced Speed upgrades and must be equipped from the Trail menu after purchase. Buying alone does not apply the multiplier.

Do these guides cover all nine zones?

Yes. The Zones guide and Eggs Tier List cover Forest through Galaxy, including Secret nests and the hydra guard, using Recommended Speed gates.

Where are potions, inventory, cash, and base upgrades?

Each has its own guide linked in the Tools/shops and Economy/base sections above — Potions, Inventory, Cash, and Base Upgrades.

Is Break and Steal an Egg the same as Steal an Egg?

No. It is a different ILGames x Eggs experience with its own zones, trails system, and Index. Guides here are written only for Break and Steal an Egg.
